What’s in Store?
As a Junior Fellow, you’ll embark on a dynamic and rewarding journey, contributing to the work of the Office of the Rector, UNU, and the UN system at large. You’ll gain valuable skills and knowledge while actively engaging in various initiatives. Responsibilities include:
- Conducting administrative research and writing for institutional development, including preparing executive briefs and background research.
- Assisting in planning by supporting the development of project management tools and systems.
- Coordinating in-person and online events, such as lectures, conferences, and workshops.
- Providing logistical support for meetings and minute-taking.
- Offering editorial support by proofreading reports and copy editing.
- Handling communication tasks like preparing newsletters and event summaries.
Compensation
Interns who do not receive financial support from other sources will receive a stipend from UNU to partially cover their basic living costs for the duration of the internship. The stipend amount is determined based on the duty station’s stipend rates and is paid on a monthly basis.
Who is Eligible?
To qualify for this internship, you must:
- Be pursuing or have recently completed postgraduate studies (master’s or doctoral) within two years of application.
- Be under 32 years old at the time of application.
- Have no more than five years of work experience in your related field.
- Have native or fluent command of written and spoken English.
- Possess excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Establish and maintain effective working relations with diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness and creativity in problem-solving.
- Have advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Show a strong interest in the work of the United Nations and UNU.
